How to Avoid Getting Ripped Off When Buying CBD Products Online

admin · February 28, 2021 · Leave a Comment

Are you wondering whether all the hype behind CBD is real? There are countless studies that prove its efficiency and you have doctors and even the WHO backing those findings. The issue with CBD is that the regulation is still murky and a lot of people don’t know exactly what it is and how it works. This is why so many end up buying bad products and write off CBD as a result. Let’s take a look at how you can avoid getting ripped off when buying CBD products online.

Know the Difference Between CBD Oil and Hemp Oil

This has to be the oldest trick in the book. Many manufacturers will sell hemp oil in ridiculous quantities for a low price to take advantage of the lack of understanding of CBD products. The truth is that these products usually don’t contain enough CBD for you to feel any noticeable effects. If it comes in a large bottle, is dirt cheap, and you found it on Amazon or over the counter in some retail shop, chances are it’s useless.

CBD is better than hemp seed oil because it’s extracted from the whole plant which contains much more CBD than the seeds. So, it’s important that you understand how dosage works before you start shopping for CBD products.

Ask for a Lab Analysis

This is probably the easiest way to find out if a supplier is legit. Those who are legitimate will proudly display the lab analysis for their products or make it easy for you to get it. If they have you going through hoops to get it or flat out refuse to produce it, then go elsewhere. You won’t know what’s in the product and it might not even be legal as anything over 0.3% of THC is still illegal at the federal level.

While you’re at it, ask them where the source material for their products comes from. Ideally, you want to buy products made from CBD that was sourced in the US. Places like Europe and Canada also have good producers and abide by very strict rules. However, if they can’t tell you or it comes from China, beware. Hemp farming does not have as rigorous rules over there and you might get a contaminated product. Consider yourself warned.

Ask for the Extraction Process

The way CBD was extracted will also make a difference to its quality. CO2 extraction is considered the best and purest option out there. It is done by washing the product with supercritical CO2 which separates the CBD from the plant. This method is considered the best because it leaves no traces of solvents behind and CO2 is non-toxic. If your product has been extracted using this method, then there’s a greater chance that it will be top quality.

These are all things that will help you find out if you’re looking at a good, healthy product and a supplier you can trust. Whatever you do, make sure that you research providers and CBD in general before you make your first purchase.
